To host an HTML website for free, open Pagelet, drop in your file, folder or ZIP, and copy the link. You can publish before creating an account, then sign in from the same browser to keep and manage the site.
Pagelet serves static websites: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts and other supported assets. Your visitors open the result at an HTTPS address such as my-project.pagelet.host.
1. Choose files or pasted code
Use the homepage upload area when you already have an HTML file or a folder containing your project. A ZIP works too.
If you have HTML in ChatGPT, Claude or your editor, paste the HTML code instead. Include a complete document and leave out Markdown code fences. The ChatGPT publishing guide walks through that option.
You don't need to put everything into a single file. Inline CSS and JavaScript are convenient for small demos; separate files work when you upload them together.
2. Prepare your website folder
A project with several files should have an index.html at its root:

Inside index.html, refer to assets using paths within that project:

Keep the spelling and capitalisation the same as the filenames. A path such as /Users/me/Desktop/studio.svg points to your computer and won't work for visitors.
Download a small example website with two pages, a stylesheet, a script and an image. Unzip it to explore the files, or upload the ZIP to try the complete flow.
3. Upload your HTML file, folder or ZIP
Open free HTML hosting on Pagelet and drag your file, whole project folder or ZIP onto the upload area. You can also use the file browser for a file or ZIP.
Include every file your page needs. A single-file upload can use inline styles and scripts or publicly hosted assets. A folder or ZIP lets you keep local images, CSS and JavaScript together.
Pagelet returns a publication link. Uploads pass security checks before becoming publicly available; if a check is still running, the success message explains that your link is waiting for the checks to finish.
4. Open and check the published website
Open the link on your computer and phone. Check that:
- Images, fonts and styles load.
- Links to your other pages work.
- Buttons and JavaScript behave as expected.
- Text is readable without horizontal scrolling on a phone.
Pagelet runs browser JavaScript. It doesn't run PHP, a Node.js server or a database backend. A frontend that calls an external API needs that API to allow requests from your published site, and must not contain secret API keys.
5. Claim the site and manage it for free
After publishing as a guest, sign in with Google from the same browser to claim your site. A free account can keep up to 10 sites, each up to 5 MB. Unclaimed guest sites are removed after 30 days.
Your dashboard gives you the site link, a QR code, view counts and an editor for the home page. Editing and saving that page keeps its URL. Uploading a new project creates another publication; it doesn't replace an existing site's folder.
You can also add password protection to a site you own. For a custom domain, Pro adds domain support with HTTPS, unlimited sites and a 50 MB limit per site.
Fix common hosting problems
The folder needs an index.html. Make sure the website's root contains a file named exactly index.html.
An image or stylesheet is missing. Upload the asset with the HTML and check its relative path and letter case. Pasting HTML doesn't upload files from your computer.
My page shows code fences or chat text. Copy only the HTML document, starting with <!DOCTYPE html> or <html>, rather than the whole chat reply.
My contact form doesn't send email. Hosting displays the form; submitting it needs a working external form service or backend. A mailto: link opens the visitor's email app instead.
The link isn't public yet. Read the publication status message. Security checks must finish successfully before a page is released.
